The new Nikon BDC Reticle
The new Nikon BDC (Bullet Drop Compensating) is actually a trajectory-compensating reticle designed and calibrated to provide fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. This unique system integrates a series of small “ballistic circles”—each subtending 2” @ 100 yards— allowing unimpeded lines of sight to even small targets.
Nikon’s BDC is designed to be used with most standard centerfire cartridges with typical bullet weights, providing aiming points out to 500 yards, with a 100-yard sight-in. With Magnum cartridges and typical bullet weights, the same scopes with BDC reticles offer aiming points out to 600 yards, with a 200-yard sight-in.
After sighting-in the crosshair at 100 or 200 yards with the highest magnification, determine the distance to the target and use the appropriate ballistic circle. Verify the aiming points by shooting at actual, measured distances.
Monarch Eye Box Technology
The new Monarch Eye Box boasts an impressive 4-times zoom range and four inches of constant*, non-critical eye relief. Combined with a massive ocular lens to deliver a huge, exceptionally bright, high-resolution sight picture and maximum field of view corresponding to each power setting, Nikon's Monarch Eye Box also adds such convenience features as rear-facing magnification indicators on the zoom control and a quick-focus eyepiece.

Locking Side Focus Parallax Adjustment

Enhanced Mount Ring Spacing
Provides mounting to virtually any rifle action - regardless of caliber.* Nikon took shooters of larger magnum calibers into consideration with the scope - both because of ring spacing and long eye relief. It even mounts to the hardest hitting magnum-length actions while providing for comfortable shooting.

Interchangeable Turret Technology
New Monarch 5-20x44 and 6-24x50 models feature 1/8-MOA adjustments and include low profile adjustments with caps, target-style high profile knobs with caps, and tapered, easy grip knobs. All other new Monarchs can be customized with accessory target-style windage and elevation adjustment knobs and caps.
